Bank of Ireland Learning Zone has won the top award at the 2017 IITD National Training Awards (Irish Institute of Training & Development) presented in Kilashee House Hotel, Naas, supported by Harvest Resources. The IITD National Training Awards are now firmly established as the premier recognition for excellence in learning and people development in Ireland.

We really feel honoured that the judges recognised us in this way and it’s a great boost for all our team who work so hard to deliver to the highest professional standards at all times. Receiving this award from IITD is extra special as it’s the benchmark award within the industry in Ireland and it recognises the commitment within BOI to continually enhance the capability and professionalism of our people", said Eamonn Eaton, Head of Group Learning and Engagement, Bank of Ireland.
“Bank of Ireland Learning Zone have established a systematic approach to adding value to the bank’s business. They demonstrated proven results, including customer satisfaction and increased productivity, which can be directly attributed to Learning and Development”, said Sinead Heneghan, CEO, IITD in commenting on the winning organisation.
President of the Institute, Nicola O’Neill, added: “These awards are both a celebration of success and a sharing of best practice and innovation. The category awards are testament to the expanding scope and relevance of people development, and to IITD’s success in raising the standards and professionalism of training and development in Ireland.”
Five awards were presented in collaboration, with IBEC, IMI, CPL, the Association for Coaching and NSAI. Two individuals were recognised for excellence, Tony O’Brien of the International Centre for Security Excellence was presented with the Rising Star Award, while Anne Rigney, Head of Retail Learning & Development at Musgrave Retail Partners was awarded Learning and Development Professional of the Year.
