Glenn Treacy

Glenn Treacy is training as a business and executive coach at UCD this year. Part of the requirements of the Diploma in Business and Executive coaching is to complete 90 hours of pro-bono coaching with members of the business community. Glenn spent 15 years working in fund management at Irish Life Investment Managers and held the position of Head of Quantitative Research and reported directly to the Chief Investment Officer. During his tenure at ILIM he was responsible for the development of the quantitative investment infrastructure and pitching the investment capabilities to both internal and external clients. External clients included some of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds.

His interest in coaching came directly from his development as a manager. He participated in numerous management training courses including the High Performance Leadership programme at the Praxis Institute at Cranfield University in Befordshire. He was invited to take part in a 2 year long series of masterclasses with master coach and executive trainer Sandy Cotter who is part of the Praxis Institute. Following on from this he completed advanced training in Somatic Coaching at the Institute of Biosynthesis in Switzerland.

At the height of the financial crisis in Ireland he conceived and managed a company-wide CSR project in ILIM to boost company morale and repair the brand. The project involved 16 staff members swimming the English Channel in three relay teams and raising €150K for the Irish Cancer Society.
